Why you should never negotiate out of fear

"We should never negotiate out of fear, but we should never fear to negotiate." John F. Kennedy.

One of the worst thing one can do to himself is bargain from a point of weakness for that is the beginning of oppression and exploitation; and believe me once you start out as being afraid, even when you eventually become brave, you will still be seen as one who is afraid.

The Spirit of fear isn't part of your abilities, so why be afraid? A strong attribute of the mentality strong and successful is their ability to look you straight in the eyes and a make their offer. If they can, why tremble?

Your ability to take something off the negotiation table is predicated on what you know, the confidence in your strengths. That is your bargaining chip. It is imperative to note that fear cannot win you anything.

The words of Lou Holtz comes alive in this regard. "Ability is what you're capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it." Put the right attitude to your abilities and watch the fear leave you as negotiate yourself into success.

Pope Francis during his historic visit to the United States of America in 2015 once said  "Politics is, instead, an expression of our compelling need to live as one, in order to build as one the greatest common good: that of a community which sacrifices particular interests in order to share, in justice and peace, its goods, its interests, its social life". "I do not underestimate the difficulty that this involves, but I encourage you in this effort". "Here too I think of the march which Martin Luther King led from Selma to Montgomery fifty years ago as part of the campaign to fulfill his “dream” of full civil and political rights for African Americans".
Those words are strong and powerful and tells us of courage in the voice of Dr King Jr. In the movie Selma, Dr King Jr played by Nigerian actor David Oyelowo we see the rare display of courage and determination on the part of Dr. King Jr. in leading the people towards being heard. Fear gets you nothing. Stand up for something and give it all you have got.

When dreams become blurry it takes the courage and persistence of the dreamer and the support of the would be beneficiaries to clear the fog of confusion. Winning is oonly for the fearless.
